WELCOME

Welcome to the home page of Castlecary Community Council. Castlecary is a small Village on the outskirts of Cumbernauld, and is a part of North Lanarkshire. Our community is made up of 83 houses and has a population of apprx 228 residents.
Our community consists of various types of homes, ranging from 200 year old cottages to modern day built family homes. Our community also has a wide mix of age groups, ranging from infants to senior citizens.
Within our Village we have a gated Childrens Swing Park which is ideal for infants to teenagers. Our Village also has a large Memorial Garden, which is the perfect location for you or your family to spend a few hours, relaxing, picnicing, or just to sit a watch the world go by.

THE ROLE OF CASTLECARY COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Castlecary Community Council is made up from members of the community of Castlecary, who are a like minded body of residents who want to improve the living environment for all our residents.
Our Council meetings are very, very informal, as we feel this is the best way to help keep the meetings productive. To date our Community Council have raised over £30.000 to help make improvements within our Village. These improvements range from our Childrens Swing Park to our newly built 2nd Phase of our Memorial Garden.
Our Council is also dedicated to helping local residents with Local Council issues. These issues have ranged from helping residents to get North Lananarkshire Council to prune trees beside properties to fitting new kitchens.
Our Comunity Council also campaigne on local issues, such as campaigning to have speed restrictions and traffic calming measures on Castlecary Road to campaigning to reintroduce free bus travel for our School Children.
So from small matters to largers issues which have an effect on all Castlecary Residents, your local Community Council has been here to help. THANK YOU
